5 Words that Best Describe Me:

  1. Strong-willed– If I set my mind to something, there’s not much that can stop me. I’m not afraid of a challenge or obstacles.
  2. Loyal -There isn’t much I won’t do for those who have proven they care about me. I take that very seriously and will never betray someone I care about.
  3. Adventurous– I crave experiencing new things and I’m always happier when we travel more during the year vs. staying home. I love planning adventures and I just like to have a good time no matter what I am doing. I like to enjoy life and be around fun people.
  4. Confident– I’m very comfortable in who I am and what I believe in. It wasn’t always that way for me, but through the years, I’ve had a lot of experiences that have molded me and I’ve learned to love every part of me for who I am.
  5. Magnetic– A lot of people tell me that my personality is somewhat magnetic. Meaning, I draw people in by my fun-loving and creative lifestyle. Being a Leo, this is one of my character traits and I agree- I DO enjoy inspiring others in a positive manner if I can. There is a little bit of entertainer in me I think.

Who I am within The Christine Marchesiello Team:

Hi all! I am Lauren and as most of you know, I work for The Christine Marchesiello Team. I joined Christine over 3 years ago as her first employee in one of the first steps of “building her team”! To tell you a little about (the boring) part of my past work experience, I have always been in the customer service and the business industry. I worked at two different Credit Unions for many years in customer service, lending and business development. When my son was born in 2015, I just felt the tug to go a different direction. To be honest, I was bored!  On a whim, during my maternity leave, I decided to get my real estate license and join Keller Williams as a licensed real estate agent. I had worked with agents during my lending days and it seemed like not only a fun job, but a challenge! After getting my Real Estate License, I actually worked opposite Christine on a couple of real estate deals. Me, the newbie and her, a top producer in Keller Williams Capital District! Who would have known then that I’d be working with her shortly…

After a year of being a real estate agent on my own, I realized that there were parts of being an agent that I LOVED and parts that I really didn’t like at all. Real Estate isn’t as “easy” or “fun” as most people assume. Sales and prospecting were the parts that I did not enjoy and I had no idea that being an agent consisted so much of just this!  I was on the hunt for something suited more for my personality and something I would enjoy doing daily. In perfect timing, a friend sent me Christine’s hiring ad for “Executive Assistant”and after reading through the job description, I declared that it wasexactlywhere I needed to be. The position was all of the parts of real estate that I loved and left out the sales parts I didn’t enjoy so much.  It was the perfect match. I vividly remember sitting down with Christine in a coffee shop and listening to her talk about her ideas and goals. She had that passion and drive in her eyes and I knew it was where I needed to be! I even turned down two other great job offers for this position because I justknewit was the challenge I needed in my life.  A couple of meetings, a few assessments and a longinterview process later and I was hired as her newExecutive Assistant. That role has morphed over the years into various roles including helping Christine to build systems and procedures, hiring staff, task management, client specialist, etc. As we have added employees and organized roles, it has landed me to where I am now as Contract to Close Director and also overseeing the admin side of the team. It’s been a great 3 years and we have grown incredibly since then! I thoroughly enjoy watching the team grow and succeed each year.

Who I am Outside of the Workplace: So now you know how I came to be part of the team. But there’s much more to me than that! I was born and raised in a small town in Massachusetts and relocated to Saratoga Springs, NY in 2011 for my husband’s job. We now have 2 children, my daughter Scarlett is 8, my son Maxwell is 4 and we have a brand new baby on the way this year!  We also have 2 Goldendoodles just to add to the craziness!!

I have always been a free spirit! There is nothing I love more than a good adventure. My mother would tell you that I have been headstrong and independent since I was a toddler. I love to be busy!  I’m always up for new experiences and traveling. Our family loves to travel, try new things and see how people live differently. I would say we are foodies and love trying different foods as well. We are outside as much as possible. Hiking, swimming, skiing/snowboarding, ice skating, snorkeling, rail-biking…you name it, we will try it!

One of my passions is fitness and health. Since I was 14, I have always worked out but after I began having children, I started to look at the food we put in our bodies and doing a lot of researching and reading. Eating well and intentionally literally changed my life and how I felt so I am passionate about eating clean and staying active. We just recently built a new house and a gym area was part of that build. I love to be able to just go to the next room to workout.  On top of that, this year, my husband and I are opening a gym as a side project. Yes, I said “side project”.  Did I mention I like to be busy?  So that will be our greatest adventure yet -besides, of course, our 3 beautiful children.

I also blog. I’ve been blogging for over 9 years as more of a hobby on my personal lifestyle blog. I still enjoy that in what little spare time I have. During some of my days as a Stay-at-Home mother, blogging was a good little side income. When I joined Christine’s team, I also did some blogging for the team which you can read in the blog section of our website. I’m also a great organizer! I love some good old-fashion organization. I’ve been known to organize rooms/closets/drawers for “fun” on the weekends.  And a party? Count me in on the planning of that! Very satisfying for me to put things in harmony and plan out details.  I think that trait has helped me to be a great asset to Christine and the team.

There always seems to be a lot going on in my life. My plate is always full. People often ask me how I manage to do everything and my answer is simply, I like it that way. I love to be busy conquering goals and filling life with fun adventures! It’s just a small part of who I am.
